Facade Rehabilitation
Hoffmann Architects provides comprehensive investigative and architectural design services to assess and rehabilitate the facades of a wide array of building types, from low-rise suburban office and warehouse facilities to skyscrapers and landmark structures.

A facade condition assessment is a critical starting point for any facade rehabilitation project, enabling the firm's professional architects and engineers to identify a realistic scope of work and construction cost estimate. Typically, these assessments include an on-site investigation into existing conditions, coupled with an in-depth review of original contract documents, any previous repairs, and other historical data on the building. The on-site investigation focuses on structural support systems, facing materials, sealant and expansion control joints, mortar joints, glazing, and water drainage systems.

When rehabilitation is needed, Hoffmann Architects provides final repair recommendations, detailed design and construction documents to correct the root causes of deterioration, and on-site construction contract administration services to oversee the quality of the rehabilitative effort. The firm's specific experience includes the rehabilitation of load-bearing masonry walls, such as brick, concrete and stone, and non-load bearing walls, such as metal curtain walls, masonry cavity walls and thin-stone veneers, exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), and panelized wall systems.
