Rehabilitation Master Plan
Hartford, CT
Built in the 1920s, The
Hartford's original granite building, with its distinctive copper dome and slate
roof, has been expanded over the years, transforming this insurance
heavyweight's complex into a single structure 5-1/2 times the size of its
original footprint. Hoffmann Architects surveyed the structure to identify
repair and rehabilitation needs for the façade and roof. As a result of the
survey, the owner embarked on a four-year rehabilitation program designed by
Hoffmann Architects. The firm's architects and engineers provided full design
through construction contract administration services for restoration of the
brick façade, repointing of the limestone and extensive roof replacement
efforts. |
